Privacy Policy.
WireSift Technology Inc, a British Columbia corporation (“WireSift”, “we”, “us”), is the data controller for personal information collected through this site and the WireSift Research newsletter.

- We use cookie-less, IP-anonymized aggregate analytics. No advertising trackers, no profiles, no cross-site tracking.
- We use a small number of service providers (MailerLite, Vercel, Plausible) to operate the site.
- We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- You can unsubscribe in one click and request deletion of your data at any time.
Information we collect
Subscriber data. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and a short tag indicating which page you subscribed from (for example, homepage or subscribe_page). We do not ask for your name, location, or any other personal detail.
Aggregate analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, EU-hosted analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses in identifiable form, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not build user profiles. The data we see is aggregate page-view counts and referrer information.
Service logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard request logs for the subscribe endpoint to detect abuse and diagnose errors. These logs are retained for no more than 30 days and then purged.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to send you the newsletter you subscribed to, to measure aggregate readership, to secure the service against abuse, and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
For readers in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are: consent for sending the newsletter (you may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing); and legitimate interests for cookie-less aggregate analytics and security logging, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Service providers
We rely on a short list of sub-processors to operate the site:
- MailerLite — newsletter delivery and subscriber management (operates in the EU and US).
- Vercel — site hosting and serverless functions (operates globally with US headquarters).
- Plausible Analytics — EU-hosted, cookie-less aggregate analytics.
Where personal data is transferred outside Canada, the EEA, or the UK, those transfers rely on the providers’ Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Retention
Your subscriber email is kept until you unsubscribe, after which it is suppressed by MailerLite to prevent re-sending. Server request logs are purged after 30 days. Plausible analytics are aggregate and contain no personal data, and are retained indefinitely in that aggregate form.
Your rights
Canada (PIPEDA and BC PIPA). You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccuracies, and to withdraw consent for the newsletter at any time. You may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
EEA and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
California (CCPA / CPRA).California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to request correction, to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioural advertising), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
Other US state residents. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah, and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws may exercise comparable rights using the same process described below.
How to exercise your rights
To exercise any of the rights above, email us at info@wiresift.com. Every newsletter we send also contains a one-click unsubscribe link. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days.
Children
WireSift Research is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use TLS encryption in transit, provider-side encryption at rest, and scoped API keys. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit personal data collection to what is necessary so that the impact of any incident is minimized.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
