Independent, evidence-based research.
WireSift Research is independent, sourced research on finance, investing, and the economy. The thesis is simple: most financial commentary is calibrated to never be wrong, and the consensus narrative moves faster than the evidence supports. WireSift produces the opposite: concrete claims with the evidence to defend them, every number traceable to a primary source.
What WireSift covers
The research portfolio targets primary-source datasets where the gap between consensus narrative and underlying evidence is large. Current projects span earnings-call disclosure, infrastructure spending and demand reality at public companies, and the structural questions that follow. The methodology generalizes — future projects will extend into other domains where rigorous primary-source work can replace anecdote and headline.
Who it's for
Sophisticated investors, finance professionals, and capital allocators who need better inputs than financial Twitter and consultant decks provide. Not retail education. Not stock tips. Not affiliate-driven hype.
Who runs it
Aaron Dunn, CFA — 20 years in equity research covering technology, small caps, and a range of industries across North America. Independent since 2025. Builds the data and research tooling alongside the analytical work — the combination of analyst depth and engineering capacity is what makes this kind of dataset possible at this scale.
Methodology principles
- Tier-rated sourcing. Every claim is anchored to a primary source (Tier 1: peer-reviewed, regulatory, or under-oath disclosure) wherever available. Lower-tier sources are explicitly labeled.
- Specificity over hedging. Concrete claims are preferred over calibrated-to-never-be-wrong commentary, even when specificity carries risk.
- Cross-validation. Quantitative work is cross-validated against independent models or datasets where possible.
- Transparent uncertainty. When data is unavailable, weak, or contradictory, the report says so.
- Open methodology. Schemas, prompts, and pipelines are published. Anyone can audit how a claim was produced.
